Welcome! I’m glad you are here!

I am a writer and a clinical psychologist. Accordingly, this website contains some poetry and short fiction, as well as a blog about psychology and mental health, which I conscientiously believe to be non-fiction. Please navigate to what interests you and leave comments if you have any.

In case you are wondering, here is a little more about me:

I was born in St. Petersburg, then the SU, now Russia (In respect of the times we are living in and to assuage any doubt: I wholeheartedly oppose the war in Ukraine). I moved to Haifa, Israel at the age of four and then to Canada at the age of thirteen. I completed my undergraduate and Master’s degrees in cognitive neuroscience at York University and the University of Toronto, respectively, and then moved to the States for my doctoral degree. I received a Psy.D. degree from Rutgers University and have been a clinical psychologist at Princeton University’s counseling center since 2016.

I like to write poetry and short stories. I have written about a variety of different things, but one of my recent projects was a cycle of short stories meant to explore the emotional experience of being an immigrant, or a stranger in general. You might guess, based on my brief biography above, how I came by this interest. I hope to publish that collection of stories as a book.

Perhaps one day some of my observations about psychological processes will also become a book. For now, I am very happy to write them as separate blog posts. Most of the ideas I will be writing about have been useful to my clients, and if they become useful to you I will be very glad.
